How-to install a shower drain in 10 steps

1 Choose the location

2 Before starting the installation process, please check if the floor and work area are clean. Another important thing is to make sure debris or filth cannot get into the shower drain during assembly

3 Calculate the height of the shower drain
First you need to determine the height of the shower drain. Keep in mind that the tiles should be laid level or 1 mm higher than the top edge of the shower drain, to ensure optimal water drainage

4  Place the built-in set
After creating space for the shower drain, the built-in set needs to be inserted, aligned and levelled. This can be done using the height adjustable legs.

5 Connect to drainage pipe
We recommend replacing drainage pipes with diameter less than 50 mm

6 Create a sloped floor
Provide adequate slope to the screed floor so the water runs to the shower drain

7 Watertight installation
As soon as the screed has hardened it’s time to waterproof the shower drain. This can be done using the Water Protection System

8 Place your bathroom tiles

9 Seal the shower drain
Once the tiles have been placed, the joint between the tiled floor and the drain should be permanently sealed with an elastic sealant (maintenance joint).

10 Place the grate cover
After letting the sealing dry the shower drain can be cleaned, afterwards, the height adjustable grate can be placed and adapted to tile thickness.
